NCRC Lead Painter Accreditation finalists announced

Today at Thatcham Automotive Academy, eight Nationwide Crash Repair Centre painters will be competing for their chance to scoop the top podium spot as 'Lead Painter' within Nationwide Crash Repair Centre Group at the Lead Painter Accreditation Final; a joint training initiative between PPG Industries and Nationwide CRC.

PPG Refinish UK are pleased to announce the eight finalists competing today, in no particular order, are:

Andy Taylor - NCRC Edinburgh

Andy Bury - NCRC Manchester

Darren Howes - NCRC Exeter

Jim Hogbin - NCRC Canterbury

Alistair Kirk - NCRC Nottingham

Peter Kyriacou - NCRC Portsmouth

Jason Stuart - NCRC Baldock

Alyn McCue - NCRC Pontypridd 

The successful candidates were selected based upon their score during an intensive two day training and skill set assessment earlier in the year at PPG Training Centre, Stowmarket. The eight candidates demonstrated excellent technical knowledge, superb painting techniques and commitment to 'right first time' processes.

The Lead Painter Accreditation Competition Final today is a one day skills based assessment at Thatcham Automotive Academy designed to test all aspects of painter's ability to deliver consistency through process through an advanced set of painting tasks.

The LPAC final will test the eight Nationwide CRC painter's skills in an array of areas including, preparation, application and colour matching methodologies; whilst also testing ability to work with new paint technologies including Matt Clearcoats. Health and Safety compliance will be judged throughout the day.

The winner of today's LPAC final competition will win a full Apple package including an IMac, Ipad and IPhone and will win the coveted title of 'Lead Painter' within Nationwide Crash Repair Group.
